Durham Shoestring Performers — upcoming auditions: DSP has posted open-reading auditions for Things I Know to Be True on October 5 and A Doll’s House, Part 2 on November 30, both at Oshawa’s Arts Resource Centre. No monologue, booking, fee, or previous experience is required; scripts may be borrowed beforehand. DSP is also actively seeking backstage volunteers. Scarborough Players invites performers to audition for New Magic Valley Fun Town by Canadian playwright Daniel MacIvor, directed by Katherine Turner.
A reunion between old friends becomes a powerful story of humour, heartbreak and the past we carry with us.
Four roles: Dougie and Cheryl, White characters in their mid-50s; Allen, a Black character in his mid-50s; and Sandy, a White character about 30. Playing ages are a guide.
Auditions: October 13 and 14, 2026 · 7:30–10 p.m.
Location: 780 Birchmount Road, Unit 5
Performances: January 8–23, 2027
Non-paying, non-equity production.
Book in advance at audition4sp@gmail.com, indicating your preferred role and attaching your résumé and headshot/photo. Prepare a monologue of no more than 90 seconds; sides will be supplied.
