Blithe Spirit, by Noël Coward

The celebrated comic play by Noël Coward that masterfully blends wit, farce, and the supernatural. The story centers on Charles Condomine, a novelist who invites the eccentric medium Madame Arcati to his home to conduct a séance as research for his new book. The séance unexpectedly conjures the ghost of Charles’s mischievous first wife, Elvira, who is visible only to him. Elvira’s return throws Charles’s marriage to his second wife, Ruth, into chaos, as Elvira schemes to reclaim her place in his life. The play’s sharp dialogue and improbable situations explore themes of love, jealousy, and the lingering influence of the past, all delivered with Coward’s signature light touch and humour.
